All these words have meaning for me to live life fearlessly. The white horse in Scripture is not a decoration. He arrives with purpose. I did not try to sculpt a rider or a war. I sculpted the horse himself — stretched into the run, mane up, tail driving, still collected enough to be honest. Across his shoulder is a banner: With Freedom, With YHVH. That is the heart of the piece for me. Freedom is not the absence of a hand. It is running with the One who made him.
"The Bond of a Horse with His Girl" • Edition 1 of 12 • Bronze • Size: 23” long x 17” wide 9.5” tall • Cost: $2900 • ARTIST STATEMENT: This piece is about the quiet side of the partnership — the kind of trust that doesn’t need words or movement. A horse will only fully rest, fully lower himself to the ground, when he feels completely safe. In this sculpture the horse has chosen to lie down beside the girl who belongs to him. She sits close, one hand resting near his head, her body soft and still. There is no performance here, no riding, no demand. Only the simple, profound fact that he has decided she is his person. I have known this feeling. The weight of a horse’s head settling against you, the slow breathing, the absolute stillness that says, “I trust you with my life.” It is one of the purest gifts a horse can give. The bronze holds that stillness. The textures remain rough and honest, the same way the bond itself is honest — unpolished, earned over time, and deeper than any ribbon or title. The Bond of a Horse with His Girl is not about what we do with horses. It is about what they allow us to become when they choose us.

It is the recognition that this partnership is built on trust, respect and time mutually shared — it is something holy. In this moment there is no dominate master only two spirits sharing the same bond. This piece is a simple thank you to the One who made both.

This sculpture is my attempt to freeze one of those seconds in bronze so it can be felt again and again. The rough, expressive surface keeps the clay’s energy visible, letting the light catch the play of muscle and motion. The splashing water anchors the figure just enough to remind us that even the wildest joy still touches the earth.

After the games, the work, and the weather, there is this: a horse on his side, tail curled, head quiet, finally willing to let the world go on without him. A horse only lies like that when he feels safe. I wanted the bronze to hold that trust — the still moment most people miss because they are looking for motion. The lighter patina and the wood base were meant to keep the piece quiet. I did not want drama. I wanted the feeling of a horse who has decided, for a little while, that he can close his eyes. That trust is as much a part of the horse as the play and the power. This sculpture is my way of giving the still moment the same respect.
"Concerning Spooky Things" • 1 of 12 edition • Bronze • Size: 12” long x 10” wide x 15” tall • Each piece will have a similar yet unique patina • Price: $2350 • ARTIST STATEMENT: This is the exact moment a horse decides the world has gone wrong. He has just registered two things no sensible horse wants to meet: the blunt, snouted shape of a pig in the weathered logs at his feet, and the long, coiled form of a rattlesnake resting on top of them. Both are ancient enemies. Both can kill. In that split second his whole body answers. The head snaps up, the ears lock, the front legs lift, and the powerful hindquarters gather beneath him. It is not yet a full bolt — it is the sharp, electric reaction that says, “Something spooky is here that should not be, and am on full alert to the danger.” Horses do not pretend even when in all actuality the objects are harmless. When they see something that frightens them, the truth travels through muscle and bone and the mind finishes the thought. That pure, unfiltered honesty is what I wanted to freeze in bronze. The pig-faced logs and the snake are not decoration; they are the reason the horse is moving this way. They are a mixture of what’s real and what’s not. "Concerning Spooky Things" is about that charged heartbeat when a horse believes he is not alone with ordinary country, and his whole body becomes the warning.
"Yearling Games" • Edition 1 of 12 • Bronze • Size: 32” long x 10” wide x 20” tall • Price: $3200 • ARTIST STATEMENT: Yearling Games was my first sculpture. These two yearlings are not the same horse twice. One is play, play, play — stretching, crowding, tail up, still convinced the game is on. The other would rather not. She is planted, turned a little away, done with the roughhousing for now. Anyone who has raised young horses knows that pair. One starts it. The other puts up with it, or tries not to. I did not want a pretty pair of matching colts. I wanted the mismatch that makes the scene real: energy meeting reluctance, and both of them still belonging to each other. That is how yearlings learn their own limits — and each other’s. Horses have been in my life since I was a girl. They taught me long before clay did. This piece is the first time I tried to give that lesson weight and form. I hope when someone walks around the bronze they feel both sides of the game — the one who will not quit, and the one who has had enough.
"This Feels Like Home" • Edition 1 of 12 • Bronze • Size: 15” long x 8” wide x 9.5” tall • Each piece has a uniquely but similar patina • Cost $1800 • ARTIST STATEMENT: There is no hurry here. No work left to do. Just the quiet knowing that she is exactly where she is meant to be-bonded to the horse, claimed by the dog and at peace in the simple company of the ones who know her best. This feels like home.

One leans into the challenge with full force: the other is confident of his place in the herd. There is no audience here, only the test itself of who should and will be the stallion of the herd. In the quiet of the open country, approval is not spoken- it is earned. These horses do not seek the praise of men — they are simply showing themselves approved.
